I have published my entire
Unit on Integers, with plenty of connections to the real world. It includes 10 in-depth lessons that walk students through signed numbers and integer operations as follows:
- Introduction to Integers defines the set of integers and their basic properties.
- Absolute Value concepts and notation are presented as the distance from zero on the number line.
- Comparing and Ordering Integers is presented with and without the number line.
- Integer Addition is shown with the number line, and though arithmetic.
- Integer Subtraction is shown with the number line, and through arithmetic.
- Integer Multiplication is performed two factors at a time, and then three at a time.
- Integer Division follows easily after the rules for multiplication.
- Operations with Integers differentiates between all rules learned in a mixed review format.
- My Practice Exercises page has 10 additional quiz problems for assessment.
- My Challenge Exercises page offers 10 additional real-world problems.
There are a total of 60 interactive exercises in this unit, so students will get plenty of practice. Be sure to bring your entire class!
